  1. Readme for MusicManIII V3.00 Beta3 (c)1991-1996 Andreas Mair

  4. This is only a BETA release of MusicManIII.
  5. Currently there is only unformated (pre-released) documentation
  6. and no online help available.
  7. Only german and english program (via locale.library) and
  8. documentation available. If anyone wants to build catalogs
  9. for not included languages please contact me to get more infor-
  10. mation about this. Note: Everyone translating the catalog AND
  11. documentation to an unincluded language gets registration for FREE!
  12.  
  13. Not all requesters are implemented yet:
  14.   - Project/Create MC
  15.   - Project/Export
  16.   - Project/Import
  17.   - Record/Copy
  18.   - Record/CD player (is under development; fast forward/backward
  19.               not yet implemented; if you want to use it
  20.               with ATAPI-CD-ROMS there may be problems, I
  21.               used cd.device V2.12 to test it)
  22.   - File/Sort
  23.   - File/Create/#?
  24.   - File/Save/#?
  25.   - File/Manager (a little bit)
  26.   - Macros/#?
  27. All other functions are FULLY operable!

  29. This beta release lacks an installer too.

  32. The final release of MMIII V3.00 will include:
  33.   - documentation (maybe only a printed edition which
  34.     you may order while registering?)
  35.   - online help in english and german
  36.   - installer script in english and german
  37.   - less bugs (are there any?)
  38.   - more features (ARexx-Port etc.)

  42. MusicManIII V3.00 is SHAREWARE. So what you got here is only
  43. a limited DEMO. If you want to know what limitations there
  44. are you'd better start MusicManIII and select "Project/About/
  45. Distribution" because it depends on the installed key-file.
  46. If you want to register yourself as an user of MMIII I ask
  47. you to wait until the final 3.00 release is available (I
  48. suggest you use the time in between to check if it satisfies
  49. your needs). Prices etc. will be available by then.

  53. Some notes on usage
  54. ===================
  55. (you'd better read full docu for detailed information)

  57.   I think (and hope) that MusicManIII is mostly self-explai-
  58.   ning. The only important thing is that if you want to add
  59.   a new record by selecting "Record/Create" you have to take
  60.   care of following things:
  61.     After selecting this item the "Artist:" entryfield
  62.     is active. Press TAB or CursorDown to jump to the next
  63.     entryfield. Or press Shift+TAB or CursorUp to jump to
  64.     the previous entryfield. When you've you data in the
  65.     entryfields press RETURN (or ESC is you want to lose
  66.     changes made to the current entryfield) to switch to the
  67.     songs entryfields (the big ListView-Gadget). Here you
  68.     are able to add songs if you press TAB to get to the
  69.     next song line. Press RETURN to leave the current song
  70.     line and to NOT add songs anymore.
  71.     Please note that songs will always be added if you leave
  72.     the last song line with the TAB-key!

  74.   Btw: the songs ListView-Gadget contains 5 columns (left to
  75.   right):
  76.     - Number
  77.       The number of the songs. Holds colour for marking too.
  78.     - Song name
  79.     - Song length
  80.       or Counter in MC mode, depending on your prefs.
  81.     - BPM (Beats per minute)
  82.     - Special field
  83.       anything you want.

  87. I hope you like MusicManIII V3.00 and you give me some feedback
  88. because one can only say it's rubbish if (s)he told the
  89. author what (s)he disliked and the author didn't care for that.
